Nationally and internationally renowned faculty provide a state-of-the-art update on the latest treatment options for patients with hepato-biliary and pancreatic cancers. The program is designed to provide a multi-disciplinary overview on the importance of early diagnosis and treatment considerations, including surgery and new pharmacological agents, and how to incorporate these into clinical practice. There will also be a focus on emerging immuno-oncology and molecular profile options.

Topics include: cancer imaging and staging for the non-radiologist; molecular biology and translational research advances of pancreatic and hepato-biliary cancers, local therapy, surgery and liver transplantation for hepato-biliary cancers; adjuvant therapy and preoperative therapy of pancreatic and hepato-biliary cancers; molecularly targeted agents and treatment of molecular subsets for pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancers; rational sequencing of therapies for advanced pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancers.

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Identify patients who will benefit from preoperative therapy prior to surgery
  • Describe the differences in staging between borderline and unresectable locally advanced pancreatic and hepato-biliary cancers
  • Identify patients with resecetable pancreatic cancer who are candidates for a minimally invasive procedure
  • Identify patients suitable for a liver transplant
  • Integrate novel agents in clinical care and clinical trial participation
  • Describe molecular biology of pancreatic and hepato-bilary cancers
  • Recognize the appropriate regimen for first and second line therapy in treating advanced pancreatic cancer and hepato-biliary cancer
  • Demonstrate state of the art therapy for neuroendocrine of the pancreas
