This course will provide the latest, state-of-the-art information on the diagnosis and management of common disorders such as colon cancer and pancreas cancer; functional dyspepsia; new concepts in culinary medicine; IBD; colon polyp management; new interventional endoscopy; management of alcoholic hepatitis, fatty liver, and Hepatitis C; and updates on new and existing therapies for hepatocellular carcinoma. Course format will offer didactic lectures, an interactive and dynamic live-endoscopy session, panel discussions, and Q & A. Active audience participation is strongly encouraged (keypads will be used).

Friday Interactive Live Endoscopy & Saturday Lectures
Friday will offer an interactive live-endoscopy session where participants will have the unique opportunity to ask the endoscopists questions while the procedures are taking place. The "live" endoscopy surgery will be video-conferenced to the Scottsdale Mayo Clinic campus. Procedures Include:  Colon Polyp Management (smaller and larger); Zenker’s Diverticulotomy; ERCP for Stone or Stricture; EUS for Pancreas Mass; and Interventional EUS.

Saturday will include evidence-based lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, and Q & A  sessions.  Active audience participation is strongly encouraged (keypads will be used).

  • Incorporate GI diagnostic & therapeutic algorithm for pancreas cancer

Hepatology Objectives:

  • Evaluate current management for alcoholic hepatitis, including the role of liver transplantation
  • Assess current concepts in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, including emerging & experimental approaches
  • Review surgical, loco-regional & medical treatments for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) according to disease stage & patient functional status
  • Appraise current treatment paradigms for hepatitis C in the direct-acting antiviral era
