Mayo Clinic’s Critical Care Review for the Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant 2021 is an interactive CME course designed for advanced practice providers working with critically ill adult patients. Through didactic presentations and hands-on simulation, multi-disciplinary faculty lead evidence-based reviews of common critical care topics. Simulation training includes point-of-care ultrasound as well as bedside procedural skills, including central venous access and both basic and advanced airway management (intubation, bronchoscopy, emergency cricothyrotomy, and percutaneous tracheotomy). Target Audience
This course is designed for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, hospital and intensive care physicians and residents, registered nurses, allied health professionals, respiratory therapists, and NP/PA students in acute care.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Define common organ failure syndromes in the critically ill, such as respiratory failure, shock, and sepsis.
- Practice evidence-based strategies for management of complex patients with multiorgan system dysfunction.
- Discuss management of the post-surgical critical care patient.
- Demonstrate ultrasonographic image acquisition and interpretation of cardiac, lung, abdominal, and vascular images.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform the following procedures: central vascular access, intubation, bronchoscopy, emergency cricothyrotomy, and percutaneous tracheotomy.

Parking
Parking is available in multiple lots near the Cannaday Building at no charge, as well as in the Mayo patient/visitor ramp adjacent to the Davis Building on Mayo Boulevard at $5 per day on Friday and no charge on Saturday. The cost for parking is not included in the registration fee.

When cancelling a registration for a course 14 days or more before the course start date, a full refund (minus a $75 administrative fee) will be issued in the same form of payment the registration was received.
