This course features a wide spectrum of the latest updates in congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, coronary artery disease, cardiac arrhythmias, congenital heart disease, anticoagulation, preventive cardiology, cardio-genomics, sports cardiology and valvular heart disease, among others.

Target Audience

The intended audience includes practicing cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiovascular and internal medicine trainees, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family medicine specialists and trainees, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and any staff with a cardiovascular interest.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Assess the indications, use, and limitations of different types of anticoagulants in a diverse spectrum of cardiovascular diseases
  • Evaluate periprocedural management of anticoagulation in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation
  • Recite the current indications and contra-indications for TAVR, mitral valve clip, LAA and PFO closures
  • Apply the latest hypertension and cardiovascular guidelines to improve overall morbidity/mortality rates
  • Describe practice changes to improve care for patients with congenital heart disease
  • Summarize guidelines to increase preventive care for patients with CV diseases
  • Apply current guidelines for the treatment of congestive heart failure
  • Describe clinical features of primary pulmonary arterial hypertension
  • Describe cardiovascular adaptation to exercise and and review risks and benefits of exercise in patients with cardiovascular diseases
  • Develop a clinical approach for the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases in women

A special room block rate of $300 (USD), plus applicable city/state taxes, plus a $25 resort fee per room, per night, is available for course participants and guests. Group rates apply three days prior and three days following the course dates, based upon space availability. Children under the age of 18 stay complimentary.

The resort fee is $25 per room per night which includes high speed internet access in the guest rooms, access to the spa, nightly turn down service with bottled water, and local / 800 phone call access fees. Maid and bellman gratuities are optional and are to be paid at the individual guest’s discretion. Guest parking is complimentary.

The standard hotel reservation cancellation policy will apply to individual reservations unless otherwise specified.
