The 1st Annual Mayo Clinic Specialty Updates for the Generalist Team – 2022 at the Margaritaville Resort Orlando is a three-day continuing medical education course that covers internal medicine subspecialties with updates and new guidelines that impact clinical practice. Mayo Clinic experts will present on various topics in internal medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, endocrinology, rheumatology, dermatology, hematology, perioperative medicine, pulmonology, neurology and women's health.

Six didactic sessions with approximately 30 Mayo Clinic expert speakers from multiple campuses. Some of the topics discussed include:

  • Heart Health in Your Cancer Patients
  • Menopause Management in 2022
  • Drug Allergies for the Internist
  • Travel Clinic Basics
  • Transgender Medicine
  • Dermatologic Emergencies

LIVE (in-person) attendees must comply with all live course requirements and guidelines and applicable state and local COVID-19 travel restrictions, guidance and resources. 

Please note that all live course attendees must: 

  • Complete COVID-19 testing and provide attestation that a negative test result was received within 72 hours or less of the event start date or provide attestation that a lab-confirmed positive COVID-19 test result was received within the previous 90 days and you are not currently symptomatic. You must be logged in to ce.mayo.edu to complete your attestation.  
  • Provide on-site verbal attestation that you are fully vaccinated. 

 Learners who do not fulfill the above requirements will be unable to attend the live (in-person) event.

Target Audience

This course is intended for general internists, family medicine providers, advanced practice providers and internal medicine subspecialists.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review recent scientific updates and new guidelines that impact clinical practice
  • Recall updates on clinical management of common conditions in areas of general internal medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, endocrinology, rheumatology, dermatology, hematology, perioperative medicine, pulmonology, neurology and women’s health
  • Identify evidence-based recommendations for long-term management of patients following COVID-19 infection
