2016 Critical Care Specialty Days for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants is a 2 day CME event covering common diagnostic and management issues faced by NPPAs in Intensive Care. There will be an afternoon dedicated to point-of-care ultrasound and procedural based learning in the Simulation Center.

Target Audience
This course is designed for MDs and NPPAs within the Mayo Critical Care - Independent Multidisciplinary Program (CCIMP).
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Explain principles of diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
- Recognize anatomic landmarks and approach when completing ultrasound guided procedures.
- Describe options for assessing a patient's fluid volume status.
- Explain rationale for choice of fluids in goal directed fluid therapy.
