Healthcare in general and academic medicine have become more complex and daunting to navigate.  It is often a challenge for the academic physician to know where to start or what the next career steps are.   A bridge to advancing an academic career in this complex environment is faculty development. Effective faculty development must address the individual as well as the professional environment. Incentivizing the faculty member without improving the environment for mission-related activities is only part of the equation.

The goals of this course are to benefit faculty members’ development and growth both personally and professionally, create a greater sense of community, and reap the benefits of departmental networking.
