The Mayo Clinic "Teach the Teachers" Elbow Course is an advanced level course designed for orthopedic surgeons with a special interest in elbow surgery, arthroscopy, sports and trauma.

Highlights of the general session include:

  • Milestone advances in elbow surgery over the past 21 years
  • Breakout sessions led by worldwide experts
  • Group case discussions and presentations
  • Simultaneous live Interactive Surgeries in multiple operating rooms covering the 21 years of developments: Instability, fractures, sports, ultrasound, contractures, arthroscopy, and arthroplasty.

Hands-on cadaver lab (limited availability):

  • Technical skills orientation
  • Didactic portions limited to the necessary introductions and theoretical knowledge required for the technical components.
  • Participants use laboratory time to practice and refine surgical skills

Target Audience

The general session of this course is open to physicians, residents and fellows interested in advanced elbow surgery.  The anatomy lab is limited to orthopedic surgeons who are “teachers” with significant potential for “downstream impact” of the thinking and practices of other surgeons in the field of elbow surgery so as to advance the care of elbow problems around the world.
