COURSE DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this conference is to not only provide an overview of the current issues in peripheral vascular disease, but to step into the future of peripheral vascular disease evaluation and management with sessions on the application of genomics and robotics. Through didactic and interactive sessions, this conference will highlight the multidisciplinary approach to peripheral vascular disease at Mayo Clinic including: vascular surgery, vascular medicine, interventional radiology, cardiology, dermatology, rheumatology and genetics. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • review the evaluation and management of acute thoracic and abdominal aortic syndromes;
  • evaluate the best practice for medical management of peripheral arterial disease and options for critical limb ischemia;
  • define the best application of genetic testing for aortic aneurysmal disease;
  • identify anticoagulation strategies for acute deep vein thrombosis; 
  • describe current approaches to chronic venous disease;
  • review the latest developments in the management of lymphedema; and, 
  • list the latest approaches to vascular anomalies.
