Activity Overview

This presentation will provide a brief review of evidence for low density lipoprotein (LDL) reduction as it pertains to cardiovascular risk. The presenter will discuss recent literature regarding proprotein convertase subtilisin-kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors and their impact on LDL reduction.

This continuing education (CE) activity was planned to meet the needs of pharmacists and other clinicians who routinely prescribe and/or monitor medications. 

 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this knowledge-based CE activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Review current evidence for LDL reduction in relation to cardiovascular risk
  2. Discuss recent literature investigating the use of PCSK9 inhibitors for LDL reduction
  3. Identify appropriate patients for PCSK9 inhibitor therapy
