This is the seventh offering of this intensive that gives participants a kind and careful framework for considering the provision of healthcare for patients with chronic conditions. Both minimally disruptive medicine (MDM) and shared decision-making (SDM) are heavily discussed during the course giving participants conceptual and practical knowledge of the topics. The course is divided into brief lectures and interactive workshops. Lectures provide a conceptual overview of MDM and SDM including Mayo Clinic’s most recent research. This course is designed to update physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other healthcare professionals practicing clinical gastroenterology and hepatology about new approaches to the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. International Symposium on Surgery of the Spastic Upper Limb

The Mayo Clinic International Symposium on Surgery of the Spastic Upper Limb is a comprehensive course designed for physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and surgeons who treat adult and pediatric patients with a spastic upper limb. The course revolves around a multidisciplinary approach to the procedural and surgical management of the spastic upper extremity utilizing didactic lectures reviewing current concepts, stimulating debates on controversial surgical techniques, all-access live surgery demonstrations with a master surgeon, and engaging case presentations. A precourse is offered on June 4, 2024 to provide a thorough review of advanced surgical anatomy and hands-on dissection to learn and refine surgical techniques for the spastic upper extremity.
