In this workshop, we will use experiential approaches to learn about entrepreneurship through the development of a life sciences startup idea. Participants will learn about entrepreneurship and startup development through exemplar scenarios, customer discovery exercises, value mapping, and idea-based business development. The workshop is designed to train participants in their entrepreneurial development and provide a deeper understanding of the culture of entrepreneurship as well as tools and resources that facilitate the development of a startup at Mayo Clinic. This workshop will culminate with participants delivering a 2-minute business pitch on their developed problem and vison of a solution.

Designed for endocrinologists and interested internists and surgeons, this course addresses gaps in medical knowledge and barriers in clinical practice to improve the outcomes of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders. This program consists of lectures, small group breakout sessions, and Q&A discussions focusing on best practices, barriers to optimal patient outcomes and new approaches to the evaluation and management of complex and common endocrine disorders.

This hybrid course is designed as a review of techniques and topics pertaining to clinical neurophysiology. It includes basic physiology, pathophysiology, electroencephalography, evoked potentials, electromyography, movement disorders and intraoperative monitoring. There is a focus on clinical correlation of various neurophysiological tests used for the evaluation of patients with epilepsy, sleep disorders, movement disorders, peripheral nerve disorders, and neuromuscular disorders. Presenters include Mayo Clinic staff members and faculty of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine from the Departments of Neurology in Jacksonville, FL., Rochester, MN., and Scottsdale, AZ.

The program seeks to address competence in using multiple echocardiographic techniques in assessment of cardiac structure and function in adult acquired or congenital heart disease. This will include concise, limited didactic lectures with major emphasis on a series of illustrative cases which will include audience response and discussion presented by echocardiography specialists which would lead to enhanced patient management. Workshops will be held to demonstrate the techniques for acquiring the echocardiographic data, especially with respect to new contemporary techniques such as strain imaging.
