Management of chronic pain is complex, with primary care physicians and other non-pain management specialists often facing challenges in addressing complex pain. In particular, there are significant knowledge gaps regarding opioid management and nonpharmacologic management. This webinar series addresses these gaps with topics that focus on improving the safety and quality of treatment of patients with chronic pain in our community.

Communication with patients with chronic pain can often be challenging given a different number of factors. This session will focus on effective strategies for communicating with difficult patients as well as patients who catastrophize their pain so that providers can optimize patient safety and outcomes.

Patients with chronic pain may present with unique challenges, concerns and expectations than patients who do not struggle with chronic, debilitating symptoms. Join us this month as we discuss practical approaches to managing the needs and expectations of this patient population, and learn how we can best care for many of our patients who sometimes struggle the most.
