Individualizing Medicine 2015: From Promise to Practice focuses on how to translate the promise of genomic medicine to your practice. Expert speakers, focused breakout sessions, case studies and a poster session provide opportunities to discover and discuss emerging topics in applied genomics.
Designed with the professional in mind, concurrent sessions offer practical genomic medicine applications in practice to in-depth discussions about the microbiome, epigenomics, pharmacogenomics, and more. Continuing education opportunities are offered.
Course Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Explain practical applications of genomics and pharmacogenomics for individualizing patient care.
- Outline strategies to overcome obstacles with implementing genomic medicine for patient care.
- In an interprofessional forum, discuss genomic technology applications and their implications for patients and impact on health care delivery.
- Examine how predictive and prognostic genomic discoveries are influencing our understanding of health and disease.
