The Community Outreach and Engagement (SoCOE) Conference provides a platform for Cancer COE academic-community stakeholders to share best practices and recommendations that will address inequities in cancer prevention, early detection, care and survivorship. The theme for the 2024 conference is “Innovative approaches to decentralization of clinical trials: Meeting participants where they are”. The conference will: - Provide opportunities for mutual learning, knowledge transfer, and collaborations relative to clinical trials in diverse populations among COE stakeholders; - Advance the engagement, recruitment, and retention of diverse populations in Oncology Clinical Trials (OCTs) through decentralization of clinical trials; - Identify cost-effective technologies to accelerate the decentralization of OCTs in minoritized and marginalized populations; - Facilitate networking among COE stakeholders involved in all aspects of OCTs; - Facilitate the development of a global community of practice to address common challenges in the engagement, recruitment, and retention of underrepresented populations for OCTs; and - Develop a comprehensive strategic plan for decentralized of OCTs in populations underrepresented in clinical trials.

This two-day symposium will review current diagnostic and treatment standards for acute and chronic leukemias. Interactive case presentations will feature panels of experts weighing in on pivotal treatment issues. Sessions will highlight standards of care, as well as new and emerging treatments, side effects of treatments, and any pertinent clinical issues of a specific diagnosis.

Highlights include, genetics and high-risk management, breast imaging modalities, supplemental screening options for dense breasts, and more.

The Medical Breast Training Program will provide clinicians tools and knowledge to evaluate and manage common breast complaints, to perform personalized risk assessment and risk management and to care for breast cancer survivors. The goal is to educate practitioners in the field about guidelines for screening and diagnosis, risk reduction, genetics, and survivorship.  Participants, through online, pre-recorded lectures and recorded interactive case discussion sessions, will gain practical knowledge about the workup and management of common breast issues, will confidently identify and manage those at risk and will effectively care for survivors, with topics ranging from bone health to sexuality to integrative medicine. Learners can choose to enroll in the Medical Breast Clinical Care Topics and/or Medical Breast Advanced Topics to conveniently access the information most relevant for their practice.

Topics include benign and malignant breast lesions; bone health; sexuality; integrative medicine; hormones; legal issues; and much more. The course incorporates both pre-recorded lectures and interactive case discussion sessions.

This online educational event is designed for physicians, health care providers, survivors, patients, and their caregivers who are interested in exploring the essential health issues surrounding melanoma. The course will focus on updates on current therapies, wellness strategies, and mindfulness and resilience in this time of pandemic while living with cancer.
