The rapidly changing environment has challenged nurse educators to innovate and respond quickly to meet needs of learners. Technology is providing new applications for teaching and learning that expand the science of nursing education. Developing dynamic partnerships between academia and practice is essential.
This livestream premier annual conference provides a vital forum for nursing professional development (NPD) practitioners in both academic and healthcare settings. Participants gather to discuss pressing issues and trends, share education research and network with professional colleagues in an environment promoting self-care.
All sessions will be recorded and available for registered attendees to view through Dec. 31, 2021.

Zubin Damania, M.D.,
is an internist and founder of Turntable Health, an innovative healthcare clinic that was part of an ambitious urban revitalization movement in Las Vegas. During his decade-long career as a hospitalist at Stanford, Dr. Damania began a shadow career under the pseudonym ZDoggMD, performing stand-up comedy and creating parody videos for medical audiences worldwide. Dr. Damania examines how we can all work to build Health 3.0, an ideal model of care where technology and evidence-based medicine seamlessly support healthcare teams in achieving the outcomes that actually matter to our patients, while improving the wellbeing of the caregivers themselves.
He subsequently founded ZDoggMD Industries, the digital production studio behind the Internet’s #1 medical news and entertainment show, The ZDoggMD Show. Reaching millions of viewers weekly, Dr. Damania leads a passionate tribe of healthcare professionals towards this vision of Health 3.0, with in-depth interviews of medical thought leaders, mixed with merciless satire and hilarious takedowns of popular pseudoscience.
Through song, humor and creative storytelling, Dr. Damania delves into the challenges of delivering compassionate health care in our severely dysfunctional medical system while proposing collaborative ways to revitalize it. He explores how we might work individually and collectively to transform the current system and ensure that the future of medicine is a bright one.
Dr. Jenn Bodine
is an NPD program manager for ANPD and CEO of Coeus Consulting, LLC. She facilitates ANPD’s Leadership and Evidence-based Practice Academies and the NPD certification preparation course. Certified as a nurse practitioner, NPD specialist and in emergency nursing, she obtained her ADN at Western Nevada Community College, an MSN at Walden University, an MHA at Chapman University, DNP at California State University in Fresno, and FNP at Eastern Kentucky University. She is a co-chair for the Simulation in Transition for Practice committee for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She is also the editor for the Preceptorship column for the Journal for Nursing Professional Development. Jenn frequently presents to both preceptors and NPD practitioners about leadership and overcoming barriers to success.
Nursing Escape Rooms Team
This team of nurses started the escape room project in 2016. What started as a small activity to increase nurse resident participation and active learning has blossomed into an innovative way to provide education to nurses throughout the health system. The team has developed multiple escape rooms to meet the needs of different specialties (i.e. oncology, research, unlicensed personnel, high school students, etc.) . Their innovative approach to active learning have been embraced at organizations across the United States.
Vickie Adams graduated from Western Governor’s University with her Masters of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management in 2017, and completed her BSN at Missouri Western State University. Vickie is an education specialist at the University of Kansas Health System. She’s held multiple leadership roles including nurse residency coordinator, facilitator, clinical educator, unit coordinator, preceptor, and mentor. Vickie is very passionate about interactive learning and finding innovative and creative ways to onboard new nurses. She has participated in multiple escape rooms and was excited to bring this concept to nursing. Vickie has published articles relating to Escape Rooms and the Nurse Residency Program.
Robyn Setter has been a nurse for 35 years. Her nursing background is in pediatrics and pediatric intensive care. She served as a nurse manager and clinical nurse specialists before moving to education in 2000. She has served as the nurse residency coordinator since the inception of the program in 2003. Robyn has been very involved with nurse residents, providing interactive learning activities, and helping new graduates to grow professionally. Robyn has published articles relating to NCLEX pass rates, Nurse Residency Retention, and Escape Rooms.
Kaile Crawford is an education specialist that leads the American Heart Association Training Center with other focuses including high fidelity inter-disciplinary simulation, emergency preparedness, preceptor training program, pressure injury prevention, and previously served as a residency coordinator. Kaile thrives in environments where she can mentor, educate, and support clinical staff to provide exceptional patient care.
Stephanie Burger graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with her Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Leadership in 2018 and completed her BSN at Pittsburg State University in 2010, since then she has worked in several nursing leadership positions and has two publications in nursing journals. Stephanie is currently a nurse manager on an acute progressive care floor at the University of Kansas Health System. Stephanie is dedicated in helping lead nurses in the pursuit of zero harm. She has been instrumental in the planning and roll out of several evidence-based initiatives to improve patient care and with that comes finding new and creative ways to educate nurses.
In support of improving patient care, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science designates this activity for a maximum of 14.50 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A record of attendance will be provided to all registrants for requesting credits in accordance with state nursing boards, specialty societies or other professional associations.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Request for cancellations must be submitted in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If the cancellation is made prior to the start of the activity, a refund less an administration fee of $25 will be issued. If the cancellation is made after the start of the activity, no refund will be issued. All refunds will be made using the same method as the original payment.
