This two-and-a-half-day continuing medical education course provides a multidisciplinary update in prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, management, and treatment of benign and malignant breast diseases, and high risk and survivorship issues. The course has multidisciplinary experts in their field presenting the latest, diagnostic, treatment and management options. Highlights include, genetics and high-risk management, breast imaging modalities, supplemental screening options for dense breasts, and more.

Target Audience

This course is designed for primary care providers, oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, gynecologists, and advanced practice providers who diagnose and treat patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate and manage benign breast disease such as low/intermediate/high-risk lesions, and nipple discharge
  • Identify patients who would benefit from genetic testing for inherited breast cancer related gene mutations
  • Outline the breast health issues for transgender patients
  • Illustrate surgical and reconstructive treatment options for women with breast cancer
  • Explore principles of enhanced recovery and optimize the patient's surgical journey as it applies to breast cancer surgery
  • Determine which patients with breast cancer merit an axillary lymph node dissection in the adjuvant and neoadjuvant setting
