Target Audience

This course is designed for Physicians and surgeons, Mid-Level health care providers, otolaryngology residents, and Speech Language Pathologists, as well as graduate students in the SLP audience.  Specialties include: Otorhinolaryngology, internal medicine, speech-language pathology, pulmonary, integrative medicine and radiation/medical oncology.

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Identify and treat functional disorders of the larynx that account for frequently misdiagnosed etiologies of voice and swallowing disorders.
  • Manage Head and Neck Cancer-related swallowing disorders that can be immediately implemented into practice.
  • Explain various pediatric voice disorders and treatment options.
  • Identify the differences in diagnostic characteristics among muscle tension dysphonia, vocal tremor, and spasmodic dysphonia, for optimal treatment.
  • Describe variables in treatment of muscle tension dysphonia in singers.
