Current Topics in Addiction for Primary Care Providers

Primary care is the most likely situation in which providers will be faced with patients suffering form addiction. Pain and palliative care results in regular use of opioids, increasing the likelihood of addiction related interactions with patients. This course will provide a focused examination of addiction issues common to primary care practice. The course will provide tools to improve your ability to identify and appropriately care for your patients with substance use disorder. 

Target Audience

This course is targeted towards non-pain & non-palliative specialists of all backgrounds, including general internal medicine, emergency medicine, neurology, family medicine, psychiatrists, psychiatrists, hospitalists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other medical providers (both physician and non-physician). Particular attention will focus on content and speakers relevant to advance practice providers given that they continue to be a growth attendee population for this course.
