This course continues to feature evidence-based and cutting edge diagnostic and treatment strategies for sports-related and musculoskeletal conditions. The program is multidisciplinary, with expert lecturers representing a spectrum of sports medicine fields. Presenters represent multiple sports medicine fields, thus providing the attendee with multidisciplinary information related to athletic injury evaluation, treatment, prevention, and return to play transition. Multiple educational formats are used, including case presentations, interactive Q&A sessions, as well as live demonstrations of physical examination, anatomy, ultrasound and arthroscopy. As in recent years, the course will be broadcast via livestream for remote participation.
Limited space is available for in-person attendance.

Attendee Welcome Reception
An attendee welcome reception will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Hilton Rochester Mayo Clinic Area hotel in the 4th Floor Doctors Mayo Hall Ballroom from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Sports Medicine Symposium course attendee's fee is included in registration; guest tickets are an additional cost. Attendees and guests must comply with all live course and conference guidelines.

This course is designed for physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other medical professionals who evaluate and treat athletes and other active populations.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify and described management of common elbow injuries in the athlete (Domain 2 | Tasks 0204, 0205)
- Identifying modifiable risk factors for overuse injuries in throwing athletes (Domain 1 | Task 0101)
- Identify clinically relevant elbow anatomy (Domain 2 | Task 0202)
- Describe how to perform a focused physical examination of the elbow (Domain 2 | Tasks 0202, 0203)
- Describe relevant ultrasound anatomy in the performance of ultrasound guided elbow procedures (Domain 2 | Tasks 0202, 0204, 0205)
- Summarize important characteristics of caring for upper extremity injuries in adaptive athletes (Domain 1 | Task 0104)
- Explain the essential components of an upper extremity strength and rehabilitation program (Domain 4 | Task 0402)
