This conference will give attendees the confidence to accurately diagnose and treat sports-related conditions and the knowledge to determine appropriate testing and referral criteria.

This conference will supplement skills learned in residency and allow participants to fill in gaps in their training and reinforce existing knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions diagnosis and treatment. Topics discussed include musculoskeletal conditions and procedural techniques primary care clinicians can utilize for athletes and active individuals.

Abstracts 
Submit an abstract or work in the area of Sports Medicine: case series, case-control studies, randomized trials, outcome studies, quality improvement projects, practice innovations, and interesting case reports, to be included in poster sessions. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed. Accepted abstract recipients will be notified by email after the deadline, Saturday, December 23, 2017. For further information email FLA CME Abstracts.​

Target Audience

This course is designed for athletic trainers, NPs, PAs, sports medicine physicians, family physicians, physiatrists, internists, pediatricians, ER physicians, orthopedists and medical providers involved in the care and management of athletes and active individuals in clinic or non-operative/non-surgical/non-invasive settings.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop a more comprehensive understanding of diagnostic modalities to address sports medicine injuries with the ability to correctly order the test(s) that provide the most useful information at  the least cost
  • Improve skills in determining an athlete's ability to return to sports and regular activities after injury
  • Determine physical exams and testing appropriate for sports injuries commonly seen in the primary care setting
  • Treat sports injuries commonly encountered in the primary care setting, with consideration given to athletes and active individuals and the need for additional expeditious testing or referral to specialists

Rooms are reserved for attendees and their guests at the group rate starting at $269 per night plus applicable taxes. Guests receive complimentary in-room internet service. Complimentary self-parking is available at the Hotel and Disney theme parks for all guests staying at the Hotel. Rooms are limited so we do encourage early booking.

The group’s online booking site will only be available through February 16th. Should attendees visit the website to book a new reservation or make modifications after this date, you will see a message directing you to call our Disney Group Reservations Office at (407) 939-4686.

Guests should continue to call the Group Reservations Phones Team at 407-939-4686. The hotel agents will be able to check availability at both Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge at the time of the call.

Guests can also book Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge by using the group’s custom online booking website above The website will also check availability at both resorts. IF both hotels have a room in the room block available, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will show as the first option, as it is the host hotel.
