4th Annual My Must-Do Anesthesiology Workshops 2016

This specific combination of workshops entails a sequence of up-to-date educational tools used to acquire skills the anesthesiology practice demands. This course will take place in one of the most modern simulation centers in the United States. Simulation will be incorporated into each workshop. The methodology will include pre-test, followed by didactic presentations with case-based scenarios, and a post-test assessment. The most important clinical management questions will be address in highly interactive sessions.

Abstracts
It is our great pleasure to invite you to submit an abstract or work to be included as an electronic e-poster session at the 4th Annual My Must-Do Anesthesiology Workshops.
Abstracts must be in the area of anesthesiology either case series, case-control, or randomized trials, as well as outcome studies, quality improvement or practice innovations, and interesting case reports. Posters will be peer-reviewed.
Eligibility: Original abstracts (limit 250 words) in one of the categories mentioned above are encouraged for submission. Accepted abstracts registrants still need to register for the conference. For further information, please contact flacmeabstracts@mayo.edu

Target Audience
This course is intended for practicing Anesthesiologists, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Anesthesiology Residents and Fellows.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the ultrasound anatomy of the normal heart with Transthoracic Echocardiography
- Identify four treatable causes of cardiac arrest applying the FEEL exam (Focused Echocardiographic Evaluation in Life)
- Perform a percutaneous cricothyroidotomy in a porcine trachea model
- Apply the main methods of lung isolation for one-lung ventilation in a lung anatomy model
- Identify airway anatomy in the neck with ultrasonography
- Perform the technique for cannulation of internal jugular vein in a vascular anatomy model
- Recognize the ultrasound anatomy of the brachial plexus and femoral, saphenous and popliteal nerves
- Perform brachial plexus, femoral, saphenous and popliteal nerve block for regional anesthesia
