Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Summarize the role of genetic diagnosis in the overall context of diagnostic evaluations for muscular dystrophy
• Identify the capabilities and limitations of genetic diagnostic techniques typically available in commercial diagnostic laboratories
• Describe the potential additive value of emerging genetic technologies that are not currently in widespread clinical use
