This course is designed for internal medicine physicians, family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses who encounter common neurological problems in their clinical practice.

The program format will consist predominantly of case-based presentations of a comprehensive group of neurologic disorders and clinical neurologic topics. Each presentation will focus on the clinical evaluation and treatment of clinical vignettes of common neurologic problems. Discussions will be interactive and videotapes of real and "mock" patients will be used during the case presentations. Small group didactic workshops will also be presented each day to review current, evidence-based updates in the diagnosis and treatment of different categories of neurologic diseases.

Self-Assessment Activity

American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Self-Assessment Activity

This course offers optional continuing medical education (CME) and self-assessment credits. Registrants may earn credits for the self-assessment in addition to the live event. A 25-question self-assessment must be completed prior to the course activity (ABPN requirement).

You will receive log-in information sent to the e-mail provided in your registration. If you have problems with the log-in, contact the CPD office prior to the course start date.

Each participant receives a report with their selected answers, the correct answers and comparative performance of all participants on each question. The report includes recommended literature resources for each question.

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology has reviewed the "Practical Clinical Neurology Update" (awarding 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™) and has approved this program as part of a comprehensive self-assessment program, which is mandated by the ABMS as a necessary component of Maintenance of Certification.
