Each year, the course directors have improved the educational content in response to feedback from attendees and speakers to try to better meet the needs of the audience and the cardio-oncology community. The goal remains to host a course that will be educational for both those active in clinical practice and research in cardio-oncology, as well as for those hoping to expand their practice into the field of cardio-oncology. Additionally, this course aims to broaden the scope to appeal to a diverse audience as cardio-oncology is a specialty that requires multidisciplinary collaboration for optimal patient care. This course reviews the prevention, diagnosis, and management of cardiac and vascular diseases of cancer patients throughout the continuum of their care including heart failure, myocardial ischemia, hypertension, thromboembolism, and arrhythmia. The course is directed towards the spectrum of providers who care for cancer patients to enable them to recognize the cardiovascular risk of their patients and take action to minimize this risk. This includes physicians, advance practice providers, pharmacists, and nurses in cardiology, hematology-oncology, primary care, and hospital internal medicine.
