This curriculum is based on the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) scope and standards of practice. Phlebotomy 2023: Empowering Our Employees During Challenging Times

April 20 - 23, 2023 - Hilton Downtown Mayo Clinic Area - Rochester, Minnesota

This two-day conference will offer the opportunity to learn techniques for staffing, engagement, and retention to help empower employees. Attendees also will learn about building resiliency and managing change. Additionally, attendees will learn about pediatric comfort techniques; creating a safe environment while dealing with difficult patients; recruiting initiatives and training; and difficult sticks. An interactive session will give participants the opportunity to submit difficult phlebotomy cases ahead of time. These will be addressed during the live program. Finally, there will be a question-and-answer session featuring a panel of phlebotomy supervisors, phlebotomy educators, and human resources staff. The conference format balances topics of general interest, which are presented in large-group sessions, with breakout sessions and tours geared toward specific areas of interest.
