Well-being is a timely and important topic for patients and health care professionals alike. Physicians and allied health staff must take care of themselves to optimally serve others. We welcome you to learn about health care professional well-being from three Mayo Clinic physicians who are nationally recognized experts in the field.

Individuals who belong to the LGBTQIA+ population are a part of the communities we provide care. Every member of this group is unique, and recognizing how sexual orientation and gender identity influences each person, including how these concepts may evolve and change over a life span, can help us provide more inclusive and whole person care. Many members of the LGBTQIA+ population either do not have access to, or do not seek quality medical care due to stigma and discrimination, which then leads to many disparities. By learning how to provide culturally sensitive care, we can help reduce healthcare disparities for LGBTQIA+ folks. Tune in to this episode to learn more about the LGBTQIA+ community, some of the disparities the community faces, and learn about some special considerations that may arise in your care of the LGBTQIA+ patient.

The Greater Good is a documentary film production funded by Commitment Against Racism funds in Arizona. The focus of the film is a conversation with Mayo Clinic colleagues that have each had varying experiences personally and professionally around racism. Their authentic testimonials reflect the voices of allied health staff, learners, physicians, and leaders. The film is ultimately hopeful that The Greater Good will prevail.

Mayo Clinic Interventional Cardiology Online Board Review course highlights interventional cardiology topics and information with practical application in studying for board certification in interventional cardiology. The course covers basic aspects of interventional cardiology, including catheterization laboratory equipment, radiation physics and safety, pharmacology, and procedural planning and performance. Specific patient lesion and procedural characteristics are highlighted including a review of challenging cases.

What's New in Family Medicine Online 2021 is the 2nd in a series of courses that focuses on a myriad of topics that are important to the broad specialty of family medicine. It will provide learners with current and relevant updates for daily management of various patient health concerns encountered commonly in primary care. There are some brief topics involving the COVID19 pandemic including navigating telehealth which has become commonplace in many practices. Topics include the following: abnormal uterine bleeding in post-menopausal women; medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder; irritable bowel syndrome; chronic kidney disease and use of diuretics; acute care/virtual visits; hyperlipidemia/lipid management; transgender care including topics on lactation and overall care of this population; non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD); women’s health/sexual dysfunction; COVID19 and athlete return to sports; anticoagulation and hypertension.
