Hospital Medicine Simulation-Based Boot Camp 2.0 for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants 2024 is a one-day course designed for Mayo Clinic nurse practitioners and physician assistants that have completed Boot Camp 1.0 and are interested in expanding their medical knowledge. This course further explores acute medical conditions that are complex and common among hospitalized patients. Content is delivered by the use of simulation based learning and didactic formats through interactive discussions. It is meant to be fun and full of practical information to help NPPAs be successful in their practice caring for acutely ill hospitalized patients.

This three-day course provides internists and general practitioners with up-to-date information on rheumatologic disorders and provides a complete general review for rheumatologists, rheumatology fellows and advanced practice providers. From this course, participants gain a better perspective of how to recognize and diagnose common rheumatologic disorders, and determine which patients can be managed in their practices and which need referral to a specialist. Residents and fellows will have an opportunity to participate by submitting original studies for poster presentations.

The Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Update in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine 2024 CME course provides a state-of-the-art update on clinical advances in pulmonary and critical care medicine. A multidisciplinary faculty from Mayo Clinic imparts a comprehensive approach to the current evaluation and management of various respiratory diseases. Topics include: airway disease, critical care, interstitial lung diseases, lung cancer and sleep disorders.

May 5 - 10, 2024 - Hotel Cozumel and Resort - San Miguel de Cozumel, Mexico

This course is aimed at providing specialized medical knowledge to physicians engaged in diving and hyperbaric medicine. It includes presentations and hands-on workshops on a variety of topics about diving and hyperbaric medicine. This course is organized in conjunction with the department of hyperbaric medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Dive Logistics/Gear Rental 2 tank dive $120 or (2000 pesos) includes Air tanks, weights, marine park fee, ground transportation to the boat (saves time), $10 tip for the boat crew. Nitrox tank $15 extra per tank Night dive $65 (includes tip) Light rental $5 Nitrox certification during the course (boat dive fee and tanks see above) $195 (includes e-learning and instruction) Refresher course $50 Re-activate course $145 (includes e-learning and instructor fee) Open water referral $100 Rental fee $20 complete package per day $10 for individual rental gear such as Fins mask snorkel, BC, Regulator, Computer, Wetsuit per day Prices are in USD cash, pre-paid on site at the beginning of your diving week. Walk up divers will be accommodated on a space available basis and incur an additional $20. We have a very large dive group (meaning diving friends) this year and pre-payment is needed to rent the right number of additional boats each day. Credit cards (Visa, Master card and American Express) are welcome and incur a 5% bank fee. A tip for the boat crew this year is $10/diver/day ($5/night dive) and is included in the dive price. Of course, if you wish to add additional tip, you can always give it to the boat crew. They will share among themselves.

May 7 - 10, 2024 - Intercontinental - Dublin, Ireland

The 24th International Surgical Pathology Symposium addresses common and uncommon diagnostic dilemmas encountered within surgical pathology practice. Prior to the symposium, participants will have the opportunity to review clinical histories, examine digital images, and formulate differential diagnoses. Case discussions highlight pathologic findings that characterize entities within the differential diagnoses. During the four-day conference, 37 cases will be presented and discussed along with important surgical pathology practice issues and concerns.

May 15 - 18, 2024 - The Omni Grove Park Inn - Asheville, North Carolina

The course will begin with a discussion of echocardiographic assessment of left and right ventricular function, including presentations on diastolic function and strain imaging for assessing myocardial function. We will then discuss a broad range of disease states for which echocardiography is useful, including ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, pericardial disease, and cardiomyopathies. The presentations will include basic concepts as well as advanced techniques including 3-D imaging and strain imaging. Throughout the course many cases will be presented.
