Nursing Grand Rounds: Complexities in Cannabis Care | Cannabis, comprised of a multitude of therapeutic components, including CBD and THC, has been used as medicine for thousands of years; however, due to stereotyping and prohibition, dating back to the early-mid 1900s, the therapeutic uses were overshadowed until patient advocates fought for reintroduction for its medicinal benefit. With this inertia, legalization for medical and recreational uses occurred at a state level, but continues to be federally illegal leading to ongoing confusion amongst patients and providers.
