| Social Work 2024 Symposium - Somatic Play Therapy Through the Lifespan | This conference will provide a theoretical framework and strategies for use of somatic play therapy, along with other evidence-based practices to address medical trauma. Play therapy with adults looks radically different than with children but is a useful intervention for both patient populations. Somatic and play-based modalities allow for processing and healing of body memories that may have a linguistic story. Use of sounds, smells, and vestibular triggers will be reviewed. This three-day course provides attendees a multidisciplinary review of standard of care management practices and state-of-the-art advances in care of the patient with cutaneous malignancy, particularly melanoma, along with squamous cell and basal cell cancer. The first morning session focuses on epidemiology, prevention, pathology, surgical treatment, and advances in systemic therapy for patients with melanoma and squamous cell cancer. The first afternoon session focus on surgery, medical oncology, and introduction to dermoscopy. The last two days are an in-depth immersion into dermoscopy for evaluating skin diseases with a focus on neoplasms.
