Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular Board Review for Initial Certification and Recertification (CVBR) will provide the cardiologist and internist with an overview of all aspects of cardiovascular medicine. Each lecture will be followed by a question and answer session with an audience response system. Management of chronic pain is complex, with primary care physicians and other non-pain management specialists often facing challenges in addressing complex pain. In particular, there are significant knowledge gaps regarding opioid management and nonpharmacologic management. This webinar series addresses these gaps with topics that focus on improving the safety and quality of treatment of patients with chronic pain in our community.

Chronic neck and back pain are some of the greatest contributors to disability and functional impairment in the United States as well as globally. This month we will discuss management approaches to addressing chronic spine pain specifically through the lens of functional impairment, with a focus on improving the overall quality of life for this patient population.

This course will explore basic and cutting-edge imaging techniques to improve patient care and hone individual skills in performance and interpretation of echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac computed tomography, and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. Days will reinforce how cardiovascular imaging may improve comprehension in ischemic heart disease, structural heart disease, cardiomyopathies, and heart failure. Experts will utilize novel techniques to reinforce key topics including taped interventional cases and a strong emphasis on case presentations.

The Mayo Clinic International Hospital Internal Medicine Conference focuses on advancements in hospital medicine and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). The conference features internationally renowned experts offering lectures focused on the latest research, new developments, and practice updates pertaining to hospital medicine that can be readily integrated into daily clinical practice. The goal of the conference is to familiarize clinicians with the clinical reach and expertise of the hospitalist in the management of complex patients within the hospital setting. Additional lectures are included and provide an overview of hospital medicine with particular focus on the field’s success in improving quality of care and patient outcomes, reducing costs, and optimizing hospital operations. These lectures help promote the field of hospital medicine internationally and provide a framework for establishing successful hospital medicine programs outside of the United States. A POCUS workshop is offered as a supplement to the main lectures for those interested in mastering the required skills for the safe and appropriate use of POCUS in their everyday practice.

The symposium will provide an overview of neurological and neurosurgical medical emergencies first responders (EMS/FD) and healthcare providers may encounter. Lectures will cover the pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, and complications associated with each topic. Course topics will range from acute ischemic stroke with discussions on thrombolysis, LVO triage, and LVO management, to conditions like status epilepticus, acute monocular blindness, amaurosis, CRAO, aneurysmal/AVM management, acute intracranial hemorrhage, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, neuroinvasive diseases such as West Nile Virus, the impact of stroke on patients and families, fundamentals of neuroimaging, and strategies for localizing stroke management.
