The Community Outreach and Engagement (SoCOE) Conference provides a platform for Cancer COE academic-community stakeholders to share best practices and recommendations that will address inequities in cancer prevention, early detection, care and survivorship. The theme for the 2024 conference is “Innovative approaches to decentralization of clinical trials: Meeting participants where they are”. The conference will: - Provide opportunities for mutual learning, knowledge transfer, and collaborations relative to clinical trials in diverse populations among COE stakeholders; - Advance the engagement, recruitment, and retention of diverse populations in Oncology Clinical Trials (OCTs) through decentralization of clinical trials; - Identify cost-effective technologies to accelerate the decentralization of OCTs in minoritized and marginalized populations; - Facilitate networking among COE stakeholders involved in all aspects of OCTs; - Facilitate the development of a global community of practice to address common challenges in the engagement, recruitment, and retention of underrepresented populations for OCTs; and - Develop a comprehensive strategic plan for decentralized of OCTs in populations underrepresented in clinical trials.

The course will begin with a discussion of echocardiographic assessment of left and right ventricular function, including presentations on diastolic function and strain imaging for assessing myocardial function. We will then discuss a broad range of disease states for which echocardiography is useful, including ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, pericardial disease, and cardiomyopathies. The presentations will include basic concepts as well as advanced techniques including 3-D imaging and strain imaging. Throughout the course many cases will be presented.

Mayo Clinic's 26th Edition “Teach the Teachers” Advanced Elbow Surgical Skills Course Forge the Future: Stiff Elbow is an advanced level course designed for orthopedic surgeons with a special interest in upper extremity trauma, elbow surgery and trauma surgery. The course provides technical skills orientation, with the didactic portions limited to the necessary introductions and theoretical knowledge required for the technical components. Live surgical broadcasts used during lecture sessions demonstrate surgical techniques pertaining to this year's topic of elbow trauma as well as other areas of elbow orthopedics.
