Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the important role played by tobacco dependence treatment as part of national comprehensive tobacco control strategies. 
  • Describe current knowledge on pharmacotherapy and behavioral therapy for treating tobacco dependence.
  • Apply current knowledge on adult education and instructional design and methods to health professional education in tobacco dependence treatment.
  • Identify and propose solutions for barriers encountered in Low/Middle Income Countries deploying effective tobacco dependence treatment strategies.
