DESCRIPTION
A  series of M&Ms on the FL campus, that happens 4 times per month. Each instance covers specific ICU cases: The Monthly Mortality and Morbidity Conference (M&M Conference) is a regular, interdisciplinary meeting where healthcare professionals—such as physicians, nurses, residents, medical students, and other clinicians—come together to review and discuss cases of patient death (mortality) and significant illness or complications (morbidity) that occurred during the past month.

In-Person and Live-Streamed; Monthly on the following dates/times:
1st Tuesday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. ECMO M&M
1st Friday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. SICU M&M
2nd Friday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. CVTx M&M
3rd Friday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. TxCCS M&M
4th Thursday from 7:15-8:15 a.m. MICU M&M
4th Thursday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. NeuroICU M&M

TARGET AUDIENCE
Allied Health Professionals, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Resident Fellows.  

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Practice a blame-free culture of patient safety by fostering collaboration and open communication among all Mayo staff.
  • Analyze medical errors using a systems based approach.
  • Determine the strength of error reduction strategies
