Topic:         Anesthesia in Bizarre Locales: Under the Sea, On Mountain Tops and in Outer Space

Objective:      

Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify factors that affect physiology under hyperbaric, hypobaric and microgravity environments

  2. Relate changes in autonomic control during earth orbit to effects of anesthesia during and after microgravity

  3. Characterize the effects of exposure to earth orbit on hemodynamics

  4. Recommend techniques for anesthesia at altitude, in saturation diving and in space
