The Porphyrias: What the Internist, Neurologist, Dermatologist, etc. Should Know
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how knowledge of porphyrin biochemistry helps to have a rational understanding of the pathophysiology of the porphyrias.
- Understand about the clinical presentation of the porphrias and the appropriate biochemical and molecular tests required to make a diagnosis of the disorders of porphyrin metabolism.
- Understand appropriate treatment options for the porphyrias.
