This event is sponsored collaboratively by the Mayo Clinic Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Waite Endowment, University of Minnesota. The guest speaker is Leonard Kaban, MD, DMD, chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery and Walter C. Guralnick professor and chairman of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM).

Target Audience
This course is designed for oral and maxillofacial surgeons, dentists and others with an interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the impact of time on facial growth and development and therefore permit more refined decisions on the timing of surgical intervention
- Review the unique needs of HFM patients in terms of when to intervene and what specifically should be done
- Develop broader skills in evaluating patients with facial asymmetry to permit more appropriate treatment planning decisions in any patient with such a problem
