Limited to four attendees per session, the course allows each attendee to receive extensive, individualized training. The instruction incorporates demonstrations, microvascular skills practice and detailed handouts. Attendees will work with the course instructor to schedule a week that is both convenient and well-suited to individual skills.

This workshop is a comprehensive overview of theory, basic elements, design, checklist/tool development and feedback that are essential for successful simulated learner assessments. Participants will learn and practice strategies on how to design and evaluate both scenario and skills focused simulation-based learner assessments in an experiential learning environment with feedback from experienced Simulation faculty.

Attendees in this course understand the importance of quality improvement in health care and make it a part of what they do every day. They know how to measure quality in order to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement and obtain the skills and knowledge to become problem solvers. The course will occur multiple times in 2024, all throughout the Mayo enterprise.
  • Teach the Teacher: Empowering Educators in Simulation-Based Procedural Skills Training - April 7, 2026

Built on sound theoretical foundations of psychomotor skills development, standards of practice and research, this workshop will prepare participants to plan, design, implement, assess and provide effective feedback for procedural skills using simulation. Enrollment is limited to smaller group to encourage maximum engagement of all participants.
