This annual, four-day course provides primary care practitioners a practical update on topics within the realm of internal medicine and its subspecialties with emphasis on equipping participants with information they can readily incorporate into their practice to improve quality of care and patient outcomes. The popularity of this course is in large part due to the variety of topics presented, many of which are derived from prior participant suggestions, recent advances in medicine and paradigm shifts in medicine. Limited to four attendees per session, the course allows each attendee to receive extensive, individualized training. Attendees will work with the course instructor to schedule a week that is both convenient and well-suited to individual skills.

This comprehensive course provides healthcare professionals with an in-depth understanding of the benefits and challenges of using donation after circulatory death (DCD) grafts in the field of transplantation. Participants explore the intricate interplay between hepatology, transplant surgery, procurement, and advanced endoscopy for liver transplant recipients, In heart and lung, we will discuss donor and recipient selection as well as NRP and NMP. Attendees gain expertise in the procurement of DCD organs, financial challenges as they relate to this organ pool, and posttransplant complications of recipients of DCD liver transplant. This course combines didactic lectures, hands-on workshops, and case discussions to ensure participants develop a well-rounded understanding of this rapidly expanding donor pool.
