  1. Identify the cardiovascular benefits of medications licensed to treat hyperglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes beyond their glycemic effects
  2. Identify the cardiovascular benefits of achieving glycemic control.
  3. Integrate new knowledge about glycemic medications and targets to formulate individualized treatment plans for at-risk patients with type 2 diabetes.
