This talk focuses on the emerging area of drug repurposing as a strategy to accelerate delivery of novel therapeutics to patients with unmet medical needs.  In 2013, Drs. Miller, Sarano, and Schaff were recipients of the first UH2/UH3 drug repurposing grant offered by NIH.  Dr. Miller's experiences with the grant, how it impacted his research program, and their future directions in drug development and repurposing will be discussed in the context of age-associated cardiovascular diseases.
