Title: Digital Health Technology and AI in Psychiatry and Psychology
Introduction: Dr. Arjun P. Athreya is the Associate Dean of Faculty in the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Psychiatry in the College of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. As a Principal Investigator, his program of research is training-centered and is supported by NSF, ARPA-H, and NIH with a focus on innovating engineering technologies for mental health and health sciences broadly. As the Director of the Mayo Clinic Health Engineering and Analytics Laboratory (HEAL), his research team builds end-to-end computer engineering systems to enable precision medicine and improve health and well-being. One of our focus areas conducts longitudinal, decentralized digital health studies using wearables such as smartwatches and artificial intelligence approaches to amass physiological and psychological data for prediction of pharmacological effects, health outcomes, including mental wellness, burnout, and overall wellbeing.
