This is a one day interactive workshop with lectures focused on the key elements of developing a research project in addition to group discussions to help participants prepare their research ideas and translate them into a feasible and high-quality study.  The course is targeted to Mayo Emergency Medicine providers in Rochester, Arizona, and Florida throughout the Mayo Health System.

Target Audience

This course is designed for Physicians, and NP/PA's in Emergency Medicine.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Formulate a feasible research question and hypothesis
  • Review how to successfully search the medical literature
  • Describe how to navigate the IRB
  • Develop basic research designs/methodologies and biostatistics
  • Specify the major elements of scientific manuscript preparation
