LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the history and current state of government payment for healthcare services in the United States.
  • Differentiate between the different payment models including fee for service, prospective payment, and capitation (population health management).
  • Distinguish a deeper understanding of government payment for healthcare services and that this payment generally doesn't cover the cost of the provision of services.
  • Determine if Mayo Clinic is committed to protecting access to our services for our patients who are beneficiaries of government payment and need our complex care offerings.
