Session date:
08/06/2021 - 7:15am to 8:15am

FLA DLMP Hematopathology Conference meets every Friday from 7:15-8:15 am.

The conference is an important setting which allows participants to integrate pathology and clinical findings. The conference provides participants with cases to diagnose while in front of colleagues.

Hematopathology is an essential component of Hematology/Oncology fellowships and is important for transitioning from fellowship to a physician-scientist career track.

Prior to attending this series, many physicians do not have exposure to hematopathology. This conference provides new methods for diagnosis, integrates new technology, and required input from experts in the field. This in-depth RSS aims to expose participants to a variety of cases thus improving patient care and outcomes.

Learning Objectives for entire conference

1)         Participants will be able to apply morphologic, phenotypic, and genotypic criteria for classification of hematologic diseases

2)         Discuss potential misdiagnosis and limitations of tissue sampling

3)         Identify new clinical-pathologic research projects for clinical-pathologic research
