Session date:
04/23/2024 - 12:10pm to 1:10pm

Dr. Sheila Rauch will present on increasing access to effective PTSD care. Her talk will include a brief background on the state of effective PTSD Interventions and obstacles to accessing the current proven models of care.  She will present why primary care provides an ideal setting for mental healthcare access and then discuss the development and foundational evidence for the efficacy and effectiveness of Prolonged Exposure for Primary Care (PE-PC). PE-PC was developed with embedded mental health providers for use in the primary care setting. Evidence supports that it is robustly effective in reducing PTSD in four to eight, thirty-minute sessions provided in primary care. We will review outcomes data and briefly discuss the model.
