Mayo Clinic Preventive Medicine Symposium 2019

The Mayo Clinic Preventive Medicine Symposium will address common preventive medicine issues and strategies to manage commonly seen health problems in the out-patient setting. It is designed for the primary healthcare provider.  Up to date recommendations will be covered in both the evaluation and management of a variety of health problems. Several of the topics to be addressed include: stratifying cardiac disease risk, alcohol use disorders, nutrition, medication use in the elderly, and management of hypertension, sleep apnea and obesity. An emphasis will be placed on maintaining good health habits.

 

 

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Integrate the most current research to treatment strategies of common chronic medical conditions
  • Identify effective interventions to reduce the adverse effects of existing chronic conditions and prevention of additional comorbidities
  • Employ practice relevant new research to improve morbidity and mortality within the provider’s practice.
