The course is comprised of Mayo Clinic Talks podcast interviews about the background, medical management, and principles of treatment of child and adolescent eating disorders, including myths, identification and assessment, treatment options, and considerations of working with patients and coaching parents/families. Listen in the course or using your favorite podcast app, then return here to take a short assessment and claim credit.

 

Target Audience

This activity is appropriate for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in the primary care setting.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  • Identify the various presentations of child and adolescent eating disorders relevant to the primary care provider, including those symptom profiles most commonly missed or misdiagnosed.
  • Describe appropriate medical management for child and adolescent primary care patients with eating disorder symptoms.
  • Discuss recommendations and advice for management of child and adolescent eating disorder symptoms for patients and families.
