In this free one-hour webinar, experts from Mayo Clinic will discuss what health care providers need to know about monkeypox, including virology, clinical presentation and treatment options. Topics will include the monkeypox virus in comparison with other orthopoxviruses, including replication cycle, reservoirs and transmission; the history of monkeypox, including epidemiology and genomic variants; available and optimal laboratory methods for diagnosis; and features of diagnostic testing during the current monkeypox public health emergency (PHE) that are an improvement over the COVID-19 PHE.
