Social Work 2024 Symposium - Somatic Play Therapy Through the Lifespan This conference will provide a theoretical framework and strategies for use of somatic play therapy, along with other evidence-based practices to address medical trauma. Play therapy with adults looks radically different than with children but is a useful intervention for both patient populations. Somatic and play-based modalities allow for processing and healing of body memories that may have a linguistic story. Use of sounds, smells, and vestibular triggers will be reviewed. Therapists will be guided in working with the dissociation that often accompanies medical interventions and treatments. Live
